PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The quality and scope of the services we provide have evolved as a result of our responsiveness to clients' needs. We were early leaders in the informational storage and data processing fields and one of the first in the eastern United States to install an in-house computer to produce financial information for our clients.

With our reputation for providing quality service for nearly 80 years, our organization is highly respected by financial institutions, government agencies, and members of the legal profession.

We strive to provide our clients with the highest degree of support services available in the profession.

 AUDITING

Audit engagements represent a continually growing segment of our practice. With the degree of external regulations imposed by lending institutions, bonding companies, and governmental agencies, the need for an audit is vital to many businesses, nonprofit organizations, governments, and government-related entities.

Our objective in performing an audit is to express an independent, professional opinion on the information presented in the financial statements. That opinion provides the highest level of assurance we can offer to third parties that the financial statements present fairly the data they contain, in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.

Our auditing personnel have served on committees of the Pennsylvania Institute, both on the chapter and state levels. Their establishment of a system of comprehensive and monitored procedures expedites an audit and minimizes disruption of client operations.

Our audit clients include a wide range of commercial enterprises, employee benefit plans, several nonprofit organizations, and numerous governments and government-related entities.

 ACCOUNTING

The accounting services provided by our firm deal principally in compilation and review engagements. Although neither is accompanied by an independent opinion, the reports assist clients in financial management and are helpful in monitoring business results for lenders and suppliers.

A compilation consists of preparation of financial statements using company-provided data. A compilation report is useful mainly for internal needs or as a byproduct of other services, such as the preparation of income tax returns.

A review also presents company-provided data. However, inquiries of company personnel are made and analytical procedures applied to the financial data. Although a review is less extensive than an audit, it is looked upon by third parties as more reliable than a compilation.

 TAXES

Virtually every decision an individual or company makes has tax ramifications. With this in mind, we at McClure & Wolf have developed a highly qualified tax department, specializing in planning for the impact of taxes on both individuals and businesses. Tax return preparation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, employee benefit plans, and nonprofit entities are standard services of the firm. Additionally, we provide services in estate planning, pension and profit sharing design, and executive compensation plans. We are constantly striving to maximize the after tax dollars of our clients.

Our partners have served on tax advisory committees of several professional organizations, including the prestigious tax division of the AICPA, whose function is to serve as liaison between the United States Government and the Internal Revenue Service regarding proposed changes in the federal tax laws.

PAYROLL SERVICES

Payroll services are customized to the needs of the individual client.  We offer full-service payroll preparation, including direct deposit.  We also assist clients with payroll calculations, payroll tax deposit compliance, quarterly and annual payroll reporting, and W-2 and 1099 preparation.  Our flexibility and local service allow us to provide the timely and accurate services our clients have come to expect.

 MANAGEMENT ADVISORY SERVICES

Today's complex business environment requires businesses to pursue an accounting firm that can provide more than just tax and accounting services. Recognizing this need, we have concentrated on developing management advisory capabilities enabling us to provide an independent viewpoint in areas of analysis, design and implementation of cost and financial reporting systems, feasibility studies, and personnel evaluations. In addition, we are often engaged to assist in structuring purchases, sales, liquidations, reorganizations and mergers.

To many of our clients, our most valuable service is in the management advisory area.
